The City of Cape Town has been alerted to a fake message about vacancies and job interviews that is doing the rounds on social media platforms.

The City wants to inform the public and all prospective job seekers to be extra cautious when receiving these messages. For vacancies at the City, and to register on our career portal, kindly go to http://bit.ly/2eeuEUF.
How to detect a fake message:
The City of Cape Town’s logo is absent
It prompts you to pay to apply for a job
You have not applied for a job, but are invited to a so called ‘job interview’ at the Civic Centre
The City does not charge for job applications, this is a sure way of knowing that you are being targeted by fraudsters.
